Jay McVinney

Jay is the founder of McVinney Capital Management LLC and serves as Chief Strategy Officer, overseeing management company operations, governance, and fund level strategy.

Jay brings more than three decades of experience in entrepreneurship, data architecture, and enterprise systems engineering.

The firm’s rules based trading system emerged from an eight year period of research and live market engineering, supported by a multi year mentorship with a senior private bank wealth manager.

Prior to founding the firm, Jay served in the United States Army, including combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Brent Gillett

Brent serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for McVinney Capital Management LLC. and as a managing partner.

Brent brings more than 25 years of legal and regulatory experience in the investment management industry. He is the founder of Investment Law Group, where he advises hedge funds, venture and private equity firms, real estate funds, and other alternative asset managers on fund formation, compliance, and capital‑raising. Investment Law Group operates through Gillett Joseph LLP, the firm’s corporate entity.

Before launching his own practice, Brent was an attorney in the investment management group at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP. Earlier in his career, he worked as an equity analyst at Marquis Capital Management.

Brent earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School and his B.A. from Duke University. He has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1995.

William Pantoja

William serves as Chief Technology Officer and Partner at McVinney Capital Management LLC, where he leads the design and implementation of all proprietary software supporting the firm’s trading, risk, and operational infrastructure.

He brings more than three decades of experience architecting mission‑critical systems across banking, enterprise software, government, and high‑performance computing. William has held senior engineering and leadership roles at Microsoft, Intel, NEC Electronics, and Super Computer International, where his work spanned regulated financial environments, large‑scale data migrations, authentication systems, and high‑availability platforms.

William’s background includes the design and delivery of enterprise applications, security‑sensitive infrastructure, and commercial software products used by Fortune 100 companies and federal agencies. His long‑standing collaboration with Jay McVinney spans multiple companies and technology initiatives.

Lee Johnson

Lee serves as the Chief Information Officer and Partner at McVinney Capital Management LLC, where he oversees quality assurance, operational reliability, and strategic technology alignment.

Lee brings more than three decades of experience in spacecraft avionics, systems engineering, and mission‑critical hardware development. Lee has held senior engineering and leadership roles at Honeywell, Orbital ATK (now Northrop Grumman), NASA, and AST SpaceMobile, where he led command‑and‑data‑handling architecture, avionics integration, and flight hardware testing across multiple satellite programs.

His background includes spacecraft assembly and integration, redundancy design, mission operations support, and technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Lee holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of South Florida.
